How long is chaos rings ii

While Chaos Rings involved teams fighting to the death, this sequel instead follows Darwin as he is asked to sacrifice a group of people from his past, ostensibly to save the world.

Chaos Rings II has the same basic mechanics as the original. Battles are turn-based with parties of just two. Random encounters initiate battles in the wild and, like other recent Square Enix RPGs, the end of each battle fully refills HP and cancels any status ailments. The Genes of the first game have now been replaced by magic skills called Sopia, as well as Advent abilities, which are essentially typical RPG summons. Characters can also fill a meter during battle for their own unique Awake skills, which allow for massive attack damage or rapid healing.

Each character earns additional Awake abilities as they level up. Chaos Rings II is far more fully-featured than the original. It's visually stunning, the battle system has been expanded, and there's more to see and do. Switching between the new types of abilities adds a much-needed amount of variation to battles, and combining different Sopia to offset enemy strengths and weaknesses brings a whole new layer of strategy.

While gameplay has been refined, the story never quite reaches its potential. It's interesting following Darwin's quest, learning about his involvement with each of the people he must sacrifice, but the tale is told almost entirely through clunky expository dialogue. Chaos Rings II features voice acting, but only in Japanese, and not being able to understand conversations prevents the game from having any kind of major emotional impact. I'm so pleased with Square Enix and this game that words can't describe how pleasing this game is to me.

PLEASE square, put this much time into mobile games more often and I promise you that you'll make so much money and give so many people hope for mobile gaming. It's the first time I feel like square didn't con somebody out of money. Keep it up guys and you have my bills on an product of this caliber. People who think this game is expensive are right however, it is also Four times bigger than the first one and four times the characters..

The gameplay is also more refined from the first one, with more summoners that can also be leveled up. I can't wait for the direct sequel to Chaos Rings 3!!!

Unfortunately, there is a bug thanks to the new iOS 13 update that makes playing this game impossible. What I mean is the top half of the screen is black while the bottom half of the screen displays the top half of the game.

In my naivety, I deleted the app and reinstalled it to no avail. Unfortunately, I sacrificed my save for nothing. I really hope SE fixes this game. Moreover, the main hub has very detailed religious imagery with angelic statues and paintings on the walls. Every new area brings a fresh, unique artistic theme. Even the spacescapes are very well drawn with lots of detail.

The character portraits used in dialogue are superb with many facial expressions for different points in conversation. The sounds of Chaos Rings II are as high quality as the rest of the game. The characters are fully voiced by Japanese actors, lending them another dimension of character development. Moreover, the music ranges from standard JRPG battle tunes to organ music to a decent theme song for the game with full vocals sung by one of the characters. Many of the minor sound effects in battle and exploration are recycled from the first game, but, overall, Chaos Rings II is about as delightful to the ears as it is to the eyes.

Chaos Rings II also maintains a simple and straightforward control system that makes good use of the touch screen without overdoing it. A joystick for character movement appears anywhere on screen that you place your finger. Battles mostly play out through menu selection using the touch screen: more or less what one would expect. One interesting, though perhaps unnecessary, touch is the addition of barriers during exploration that only certain characters can pass through.

In order to pass through these areas a certain touch command is asked for, such as slashing through a barrier or repeatedly tapping to punch through something. At the time of writing this review, a strange bug involving the iOS clock can interrupt a solid gaming session.

If the clock is not set to hour time military time , many have experienced problems with the game crashing. This can obviously be fixed by setting your clock to its hour setting before starting the game and keeping it that way throughout your time playing it.

Furthermore, the game is not very long. Despite some sidequests and hidden bosses to test your battle abilities, the main story takes just hours. You will likely want to go back and try out the other scenarios that you missed, however, which will add to the play time. The graphics and sound are good enough to surpass most other games on iOS, and the story is as good as most current JRPGs on the market.
